Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round contest which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.
British boxer Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the two fighters met personally to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.
Former twice world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.
Boxer's Attitude
"I plan to break his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.
"I intend to really want to cause him pain. That's my goal."
Civil Exchange
Despite those words, a calm Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually famous for his theatrics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.
Jake Paul rather attacked former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "a joke" after the Cameroonian declined a fight offer.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Joshua, in the meantime, targeted British opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer said.
"I acknowledge that."
Legitimate Fighter
In spite of stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua declined to talk badly about his opponent's pugilistic talent.
"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he said.
Jake Paul's History
Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.
He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.
Commercial Attraction
Nevertheless, the relative newcomer is still one of boxing's biggest commercial attractions, regularly earning massive paydays.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28 year old anticipated a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would derail the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently being planned for two years from now.
"It will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul stated.
Size Difference
As the two fighters engaged in the traditional stare-down, with their height and weight contrast on show, it highlighted just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the match is actually happening.
